Junior Camp Venues and Dates Set
ENTRIES CLOSE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER
The National Junior Training Camp is a 5 day camp designed to improve the orienteering skills of secondary school orienteers. It is open to students who are running red courses or who are running orange and ready to take the next step. The coaches at the camp are exising elite orienteers who put aside some time to pass on their skills.
Typically the camp consists of 4 days of developing existing and new skills and the 5th day is the camp champs. There is also a strong emphasis on social activities and normally some excursions to get a break from the camp. Students can expect to come out of the camp with new orienteering friends from all over the country. Typically these friendships grow as they attend Major events.
This year's Junior Camp will take place in the Auckland Region. Accommodation will be at Houghton's Bush Camp in Muriwai on Wednesday 14 - Sunday 18 December 2022.
Orienteering Taranaki normally finds some sponsorship for our students and we will welcome applications.
I highly recommend this camp, if you want some more information on what to expect, give me a call.
